Snack on, Travelers!

As I try to remember the angel that I was while traveling as a small child, (I'm sure my mother would have a little something to say about that) I was thinking of what kept me most entertained. Besides playing make believe with my sister that we were a part of some high speed chase scene on the big screen, I loved having snacks in the car. I think I enjoyed it so much because it wasn't something we did often and it felt like a really exciting picnic. So rather than stop at every other exit to grab some grub at the nearest gas station, load up on some healthy snacks before you head out to make things easier and more cost effective. You can even turn it into a craft project for the kiddos where they can personalize their own snack sack to take along! If you're not sure exactly what to bring along for snack time, here is an article that offers some help. Snack on, Travelers!

Flying with the little ones.

I've been on many flights throughout my life, and have often been surrounded by families with children who are anything but ready to have a quiet, relaxing flight to our destination. Sitting still on a plane is the last place these kids want to be and I find myself looking at these patient parents wondering to myself  'How DO they do it??'. Because they're amazing, that's why. Kudos to all you parents travelling with little ones; you're all heroes of mine. For those of you who aren't as well versed on flying with kiddos, or anyone wanting to brush up on prepping for the endeavor, here is a website for YOU. It has tons of tips on what to expect at the airport, on getting through security without a gigantic headache, and what to pack in the carry-on to keep the little ones happy as can be ;)

Disney is the best policy. (In my opinion, anyway)

Anyone who knows me, (and perhaps even those who don't) knows I love me some Disney World. Its borderline obsessive, really. And no, I'm not ashamed not at all, I completely embrace my passion for the magical world and everything it has to offer. My husband and I go every year for days upon days of pure bliss. As you can see from the photo, between park guides and vacation planning DVDs we've got no shortage of Disney fun on our hands.

Now is the time that I will share all of my tips, experiences, and Disney knowledge with you fine people. I'll fill you in on all of my favorite restaurants and Disney hot-spots, and I absolutely want to hear all of your Disney tips and memories, too!!
Our upcoming trip is in September and we could not be more ready or excited. Stay tuned in the upcoming posts for details on our vacation and much, much more!

Pack a little, pack a lot. Either way, just pack the right stuff.

Ok, so I always find myself saying that my favorite part of vacation is planning everything...until, of course, I become completely overwhelmed with all of the details and would much prefer to hand the reigns to someone anyone else. Packing is the worst. All of the sudden I seem to forget about the things I use on a daily basis, and end up almost forgetting the toothpaste and deodorant. Not cool. Fear not, friends, my net surfing has lead me to a family vacation packing list that seems to cover all the bases! If you're looking for a little reminder as you're  filling your suitcases for your upcoming trip, check out this website and leave the remembering to them =)

Staycation, anyone?

Who says a vacation has to be taken in a faraway land with warm sunny beaches, and beautiful beverages with tiny umbrellas, and long car rides with screaming children, and endless amounts of money and planning...hmmm. Not sure if that is considered a vacation or just a big headache. Vacations can certainly be spent in the comfort of your own home without spending a fortune, but still having an exciting and (hopefully) stress free experience. It's a grand little thing called a 'Staycation' and it has become a very popular way to spend breaks with family and friends. Not only are there tons of fun activities that can be planned within your home, but between restaurants, museums, zoos, and parks, there's sure to be something you're entire family can enjoy! Check out this link for more helpful tips on making your staycation a big hit! =)
